Hello WWAA Families,

We are reaching out to you to provide some updates. While it's been chilly most days, it feels great to get out and have practice with the kids!

Schedules are on the website. There may be changes between now and opening day, so please double check fields and times before all games. NOTE: Tourney dates are not posted yet so see below for those dates to add to your calendar so you don't go on vacation too early!

Opening Day is the 18th with our first games!

Also on Opening Day is our Parade! The City has stated we can have our parade! Starting at Westgate Elementary School and walking down to the fields! Instead of every team being in front of the school, we will form a line that may extend behind the school, to provide some distance. Masks are encouraged. This Special day is our main fundraising day, please invite friends and family and stay to have a burger or a hot dog and watch a game (if you are not playing in one). Teams should be at the school by 12:30pm so we can start on time.

There have been some questions about COVID and Masks. The WWAA Board and League are trying to follow the NSAA High School Spring Sports Guidelines. WWAA rules can be found on our website: https://www.wwaabaseball.com/2021guidelines.

Basically, if you’re not a player on the field of play then we ask you wear a mask. If you are in the dugout, close to other fans, at the concession stand, talking to or helping a player or players and don't have the distance, please wear a mask. Families are strongly encouraged to have their own player equipment, i.e. Bat, Glove, Helmet w/ face mask, and water/drink. Sharing of equipment is not recommended, but in some cases may happen, i.e. catchers gear. You can look at Play it Again Sports or other sporting goods stores for equipment.

Please note that these rules may change at any time. Also, we don't know all the rules/guidelines of other leagues. So, if you are in a age group where you may travel to another field, please respect their rules and make sure you have a mask on hand in case they have different rules.

We thank you for your understanding and we are so thankful to be outside and playing baseball this year! Enjoy your holiday weekend! Let's have a great 2021 season!
